Hello Pulp Friends,

we continue this Pulp Fest Week with this exclusive preview of the cover of Green Hornet Year One #4. Issue 2 just hit the stores last week and really nice reviews about the series keep coming in, so I hope you are picking this up. It has awesome covers from Cassaday and yours truly, pulp wiritng by Matt Wagner, pulp art by Aaron Campbell, and pulp colors by yours truly. It's good stuff all around :)

In related news (related to Pulp Fest Week) I am having a little poll goin on twitter and would like to extend it in here as well, so here we go:
As part of Pulp Fest Week I am planning to pick and draw a pulp character among all those that will be suggeste on twitter AND on Pulp Sunday (reply to this post). Put in your request before Wed evening and I will choose what to draw among all the entries and post it in here on Friday this week.
Characters can be from comicbook, novels, radio show, movies, anything that dates back to the 30s or 40s (I am kinda narrowing the range so to have a more limited range where to choose from).

Cheers,
Francesco

Kara Bocek pag.10

Kara Bocek page 10
(click on the above image for a bigger reading experience ;))

Hello Pulp friends :)

with the new features I am introducing to Pulp Sunday (like the illustrated pulp tales ala "Nightmare Town") and the plan to bring back some old time radio show (with related lobby cards) as well, I realized I can't have everything on Sundays, so here's the idea.
What if I move Kara Bocek to Wednesday, which is by tradition comic's day? And leave the OTR and the illustrated prose for Sundays? Do you like the idea? Or you prefer Kara Bocek to be a Sunday strip?
Lemme hear from you, I am open to suggestion s and feeback.

Meanwhile hope you enjoy page 10 above: we are about one third into this tale and things are gonna escalate from now on :)

Cheers,
Francesco

Hello Pulp Friends,

This is my way to wish you and your family and friends a very very Happy Easter - and I mean it even if the subject of the card, which you can see by clicking on the image above, may look to some not so happy :o)

Cheers,
Francesco

EDIT: I am adding Pt.1 below (again click on the image for viewing the full Easter Card) 'cause I realized not everyone has seen it (I did it a couple of years ago, even if I recolored it this morning for the "occasion").

Nightmare Town... anyone?

Nightmare Town!!
(click on the above image for larger view)

Yesterday's SargeSteel/Giordano tribute got me thinking: would you guys be interested in seeing some old school book illustrated by yours truly the way the old pulp magazine novel were used to do? I did a little example of what I mean (using yesterday image cause I am a little short on time today): of course if this gets the green light, I will illustrate the text accordingly ;)

So, I know it might be a little annoying to log in and leave a comment, but I would really like to hear from as many of you about this new - possibly weekly - feature. It will require to cut extra time in my already busy week, but if there is lots of interest in it, I will do my darn best to find the time.

Lemme hear it from you, pulp friends :)

Cheers,
Francesco

EDIT: Thanks for the great response so far, everyone :)
Keep the feedback/thoughts coming, please. :D

Meanwhile here's a quick rough sketch for the illo that will be spotlighted on the first spread (as mentioned, the Sarge Steel one was a temporary layout thing - the new illos will be strictly connected with the text that goes with).
I will get to the finished version sometime soon, I am hoping, when I am done with some work that is in my plate right now.
