Covers... From The Vault

Hello Pulp Friends,

We end this Cover Week with a few original covers form the vault.
As some of you know, I had to pack all my originals 2 evening ago due to the tornado emergency that hit most of the East South. Luckily our area was spared by the violent storm, but I took precautions to bring everything important in the basement nevertheless.
Putting things back, I decided to took some random photo of the original art. Here are a few of those shots featuring cover art fro Zorro Year One, Green Hornet Year One, Man With No Name, and BPRD.
I have more and will post them sometime soon.
Meanwhile I hope you enjoy these covers... from the Vault :)

Green Hornet Year One #12 & Lone Ranger/Zorro #1 Covers

Hello Pulp Friends,

Let's start a new year of pulp goodness with a double cover post that we can safely title: "Family Business" :)
Above is the cover for issue 12 of Matt Wagner's Green hornet Year One, which concludes the second arc of this critically acclaimed tale of the first year of operation of the GH and Kato.
And to keep it in the "family" the second cover (below) is for Green Hornet's gran gran pa: The Lone Ranger, here in the first crossover with another favorite of mine (and yours): Zorro.

The crossover is a 4 issue mini written by Ande Parks and titled, sadly, "Death of Zorro". Don Diego is here in his late 60s and will ask for Lone Ranger help when things go bad.
Since Dynamite solicited the book, I read a lot of people thinking this mini means no more ZORRO YEAR ONE.
No worries, this is a completely different story, and last time I talked with Matt, he is still planning to pick up from were we left in issue 14. Zorro Year One is on hiatus but is not over :)

On December 5, 1933, the ratification of the Twenty-first Amendment signed the end fo the Prohibition.

Today, December 5, 2010, to celebrate, I am posting two covers I did for the fine comics that are set during the Prohibition: I am referring to Green Hornet Year One #11 and Kato Origins #10 (currently soliciited in December Previews)

KATO: Origins #7 Cover & Baltimore Con

Hello Pulp Friends,

I wanted to share with you all the cover for KATO ORIGINS #7 (in September's Previews) and let you all know I will be in Baltimore this weekend for BCC10 show. I will be sitting at 1710B, near my Zorro partner in crime and supertalented Matt Wagner, so feel free to stop by and say hi if you are attending :)
I will have prints and a few sketchbooks for sale (since I am flying, amounts are limited) and, of course, I will have my drawing supplies for those interested in getting a con sketch or mini commission from me :)

With the new Green Hornet movie trailer hitting the web, I thought it was appropriate to show my cover for Green Hornet Year One #6 which is solicited in Luly's Previews (in stores tomorrow).

As you know, I tried to give a movie poster feel to the whole run of covers for this arc, and since this is the conclusion of the first arc, I thought to include some credits on the cover as well, just like you would see on a movie poster :)
