"League Of Terror" (January 9, 1938)

League Of Terror
Hello Pulp Friends,

This week the Shadow faces with a dangerous counterfeit money ring.
After the innocent Michael Sullivan is sentenced to jail time becuase in possession of counterfeit bills, Lamont and Margo decide to investigate and find out why Sullivan is so afraid to tell who gave him the money.
To bring down this criminal racket, they will ask help to Sullivan's daugther, Mary.

Not the best quality audio in this episode, titled "Legue of Terror", but still a very enjoyable one.

I will never get tired of the accent of the bad guys and of the deliciously retro feel of their (nick)names: Trigger, Big Boss... It reminded me so much of the Dick Tracy villain names :)

Enjoy the show and have a great (pulp) Sunday!

"The Ruby of Karaval" (November 21, 1937)

The Ruby of Caraval
Hello Pulp Friends,

After the Black Beetle parenthesis (no worries, BB will be back with way more), we go back to the classic Old Time Radio show as promised. And we go back to the Shadow! :)

In this week's episode, titled "The Ruby of Karaval", we deal with a ruby that carries a 500 year old curse.

The ruby was stolen centuries ago from the gates of Karaval and ends up in modern times (well, the '30s) in the mansion of Hugo Savar, actor and collector. A notorious crook (Moonlight Joe, gotta love those names) forces a make-up artist to change Joe's face into Hugo's and sneaks in Hugo's house to steal the ruby. But things get complicated when Lamont and Margo show up in the same house and people start to die. Is it the curse of the ruby or something else?

Enjoy the show and have a great (pulp) Sunday!

"Altar of Death" (March 15, 1942)

Altar of Death
Hello Pulp Friends,

Today's episode of the SHadow has all the elements of those exotic mystery tales: a vulcano island with natives, drums beating and fires going by night, people disappearing (usually a couple, a man and a woman, every year during Girmet, "The Night That Eats Men"), human sacrifices, and, of course, The Shadow finding out if all this is really about a primitive god or something much more "material".

Enjoy the show and have a great (pulp) Sunday!

"Murder Underground" (March 9, 1940)

Murder Underground
"Crime Does Not Pay! The SHadow Knows!!!"
Yeah, it's good to remember that every now and then ;)

Hello Pulp Friends,

you know what happens when you put together an old lady who is not that harmless and innocent as she looks (and who has a passion for nickels and murders ;)), his son who is running quite a shady business, a bunch of rats which are as big as cats, the dirty and rundown hoods close to the river, and the Shadow?
Well, listen to the below episode to find out ;)

Enjoy the show and have a great (pulp) Sunday!

"Murder On Approval" (Aug 21, 1937)

Murder On Approval
"No One Can Quarantine The Shadow!!!"
While visiting a US Army base, Lamont and Margo have to deal with an apparently new virus that is spreading in the area. The infection has been brought there by a scientist, Dr Viktor Colandra, who has been hired by a foreigner country for his deadly skills in infectious deseases and who has been helped by the doctor of the base. Will the Shadow stop this before it gets out of control? Listen to the episode to find out :)

I loved the intro commercial about a good hero has to have good tires ;)

Enjoy the show and have a great (pulp) Sunday!

"The Lady in Black" (Nov 22, 1942)

The Lady in Black
"The SHadow is BACK!!!"
That's right, finally, after a few months, we get back to those old pulp radio episodes of the Shadow: I hope you are as excited as I was today :) Let's get soon to it, without any more delays.

A series of apparent suicides brings Lamont and Margo to investigate an old story about a chemist/painter, Albert Gerner, and his famous painting "The Lady in Black". The subject of the painting killed herself after being portrayed, or this is what the artist said before disappearing himself.
The shadow will find the truth behind the mystery of "The Lady in Black", and this time Margo's notes will result to be very helpful in solving the case.

Enjoy the show and have a great (pulp) Sunday!
