It's Day 5 of this Classic Horror marathon, and it's time for one of the most famous "lost" movies (since the last known existing print was burnt up in vault #7 at the MGM Studios in 1967): "LONDON AFTER MIDNIGHT"!

starring: Lon Chaney, Marceline Day, Henry B. Walthall

A house in London, now a lair of vampires, was once the scene of a suicide, even if a neighbor was skeptical about the cause of death. An inspector, using hypnosis, unveils that the murderer is that same neighbor. The movie, now lost, was Lon Chaney’s only incursion into the vampire (or pseudo-vampire) genre.

College student Larry Talbot kills a wolf that attacked his girlfriend, but the beast bites him before dying. The wolf is actually a werewolf. Infected, Talbot starts to transform, kills a gravedigger, and attacks his own girlfriend. Without knowing the werewolf is his son, Talbot’s father kills him in the end.

Jonathan Harker leaves for Transylvania, invited by Count Orlok, who turns out to be a vampire. Jonathan succeeds in returning home, but the vampire follows him, bringing the plague. The epidemic will be stopped thanks to Jonathan’s girlfriend, who sacrifices herself by sleeping with the vampire until dawn.

The Baron Von Frankenstein assembles body parts and neuro tissues from corpses to give life to a monster that gets out of his control. This is the masterpiece of the modern Universal gothic movie, along with Tod Browning’s Dracula. Karloff and his make-up have become legend in movie history.

Hello Pulp Friends,

it's that time of the year again... no, it's not Xmas yet, I meant it's Halloween time! :D
So, in the long tradition of TCM (that airs all classic horror movies all month along) I thought to re-run a classic collection of Classic Horror Movie illos I did a few years back, with a final surprise at the end of the month.
I know a few of you (yes, I am talking to those 4 or 5 of you who have known me for a while ;)) may have seen this already so pls don't spoil the surpirse. To everyone else, please enjoy my little tour in the B/W classic scary movies and tune in every day this October for a new illo :)
