The Californian Devil!

Zorro #14 Back Cover

Hello my friends,

I wanted to share this back cover I did for Zorro #14 which, as all my back covers do, teases on the upcoming issue 15 which will see me back at doing the interior pages as well. The idea was to go with authentic old pulp magazine cover feel, and once you will have issue 15 in your hands you will see why ;)
Issue 15 is in Previews this month for pre-orders but I am planning to get back to it with the cover and some preview pages.
Until then, I hope you enjoy the "Californian Devil" (I am including also some close-up to show better the linework).

Cheers,
Francesco

It gives me the creeps! That Californian Devil looks grim and gritty! Indeed Francesco, you did capture the feeling of a sordid and exploitative old pulp mag. Well done, my friend.

P.S You have an E-Mail adress, Francesco? If so I'd like to E-Mail you a two-pages long script sample I did some months ago. Of course, i'm not pushing you. Just asking if you have the time to check it out.

Dave: HA! I like that "nickname" :D Thank you, Dave, glad you enjoyed the closeup too :)
Slavi: Thank you! :) About the villains, do you mean for BB or Zorro? In any case the answer is yes (Matt Wagner is cooking up some cool bad guy for this arc of Zorro).
Ilia: Speaking of Matt, he beated you of a few days, Ilia ;) Thank you so much for the kind words :)
Neue: Creeps is good ;) Thank you for the kind comment, and about my mail you can easily use the contact button on my official website. AT the moment I am pretty booked - for that reason I am not taking on new stuff and I barely have time to read the scripts I need to work on, so I have to warn you it could be some time before I can read that. Please accept my apologies in advance.

Cheers,
Francesco

I was going a google search for Custer, and happened to find this:

Lol! Nice use of reference! But I like the California Devil much more than Custer :)
